Love never dies - Stella Mimikou
Country - Greece
'I love painting since I was a little girl. My studies in painting and sculpture helped me evolve as a human being. My artworks focus on social-political and environmental concepts. I am concerned with human being, his struggles over the years, due to war consequencies, pollution of the environment etc. and specifically I focus on children, as they are the future'
Title of the work: Love never dies
Medium of the work: painting on canvas, acrylic
Dimension of the work (in Inches) : 15,74 x 19,68 Inches (40 x 50 cm)
My work depicts the Goddess Aphrodite, who was the Goddess of love and beauty in Ancient Greek Mythology. This is a symbolic work as the mask on the statue reflects the current situation prevailing around the world and how the data in the field of love and affection have changed. These are two of the most intense and tender emotions we experience throughout our lives. They are two words so simple but at the same time so complicated. Nevertheless, I believe that love never dies, it is always there and waiting for us to feel it.
